BSS ( Business Shared Services ) Bogota is expanding its current services by developing new capabilities on Tax & Statutory Reporting processes to provide services to LAC markets.
As part of this growth on existing capabilities a structure was implemented with a Center of Excellence ( CoE ) of Taxes and Statutory compliance for Latin American.
The Tax function within BSS Bogota covers activities related to Direct and Indirect Taxes, and provides value added insights to the supported markets like Tax Planning, Tax Risk mitigation, Tax savings opportunities, and Statutory & Tax regulations.
Tax Analyst prepares Tax returns and other financial and statistical reports based on given checklists and task notes, keeping deadlines and complying with market legislation and regulatory requirements. Tax Analyst supports other Tax members by preparing statutory returns, analysis and replying to ad-hoc queries and also contributes with ideas, energy, enthusiasm and support to the continuous improvement of the indirect tax compliance processes.
Below are described the basic activities expected for this role.
Ensure Tax filings and Tax reports are prepared accurately and submitted on time to authorities and Group Tax.
Prepare accurately and on time, in line with legal requirements and get approval to submit indirect tax returns to Tax authorities (e.g. VAT, Withholding taxes, Gross Sales Tax and others) on time and avoid incurring on penalties.
Prepare quarterly and annual Tax and statutory reports and ensure they reconcile with taxes reports submitted to Tax Authorities and Group Tax.
Ensure intercompany reporting related to the Tax and statutory financial statements are completed accurately and on time adhered to strict control procedures.
Participate and contribute to month-end close timetable activities planned to ensure completeness and accuracy of Financial Statements necessary for Tax reports.
Complete General Ledger ( GL ) reconciliations and clearings.
Seek continuous process improvement and supports the team in projects and develop initiatives as requested.
Contribute with ideas, energy, enthusiasm and support to the continuous improvement of the \"Governance & Compliance\" process.
Any other task designated or indicated by Line Manager to ensure accuracy, completeness and timeliness is achieved on Tax Reporting and other activities related to accounting to guarantee Diageo is recognized as the most trusted and respected company on the markets it operates.
Certified Public Accountant
Post graduate studies in Taxes (desired)
Tax policy changes updates
- Minimum 2Yrs experience on Tax compliance and monthly close activities, reconciliations, Balance Sheet review and taxes advisory
Skills and abilities
Good communication skills in Spanish
Attention to detail and organized
Customer service oriented and teamwork player
Accounting systems: SAP (preferable), AS400, Oracle, others
