BSS ( Business Shared Services ) Bogota is expanding its current services by developing new capabilities on Tax & Statutory Reporting processes to provide services to LAC markets.
As part of this growth on existing capabilities a new structure is being implemented with a Center of Excellence ( CoE ) of Taxes and Statutory compliance for Latin American.
Purpose of role:
Ensure that statutory accounting reporting is completed accurately and on time every month, in line with the Government local legislation, Taxes rules and IFRS principles, and that internal control procedures are robust, sustainable and strictly adhered to by all finance community.
Contribute to the monthly review sign off and follow up process of corporate reporting entities, which are signed by the CoE Tax & Statutory Lead LAC-BSS and Market Finance community supported by the BSS
Qualifications and responsibilities:
Below are described the basic activities expected for this role
Ensures accurate and complete recording of statutory books and reconciliation on a monthly basis.
Perform monthly, quarterly, annual, and ad hoc financial reporting and analysis of the balance sheet.
Produce statutory financial statements under relevant local GAAP and IFRS principles in quality and on time. Produce analytical review of statutory accounts to provide meaningful explanation of the entity’s activities and performance during the year.
Ensure that the year-end financial statements are audit compliant and to guarantee that supported markets fully meet local legislation and Diageo internal statutory reporting requirements.
Be in contact with statutory auditors. Answer questions, resolve issues. Review and coach the work of Accounting and Tax analysts providing support for complex entities.
Provide support internal and external audits, ensure relevant information is provided and support to achieve satisfactory on any audit settlement, also support line manager on identified risks and its mitigation plan execution.
Certified Public Accountant
Post graduate studies in IFRS (desired)
Minimum 3 years’ experience in accounting roles, or
Balance Sheet review to guarantee results are in compliance with local regulation, Profit reconciliation between Local and Corporate results, Accounting reports to Local authorities, Accounting reports per business units, Statistical reports to Government authorities and headquarters under Local GAAP and International GAAP
