Position: Key Account Manager, Appliances & Cookware

Location: Medellin, Colombia

Reports to: Sales Director


The purpose of this Achieves maximum sales profitability, growth and account penetration within an Medellin territory and/or market segment by effectively selling the company’s products and/or related services. Personally contacts and secures new business accounts/customers.


A. Tight customers Budget Controls/Budget management:

Ensure that customer investment delivers a solid return on investment while building on the long term sustainability of the brands.

A. Creative Business Development:

Must uncover, develop and execute unique ways to grow the business with customers and provide solutions to management in the face of challenges.

A. Thorough Business Planning:

Able to uncovered category opportunity at customers and build a plan to convince them that the company brands are the solution for their business. Has awareness of potential setbacks to plan and develop contingencies to overcome them. Forecasting Accuracy by Customer: Detailed demand forecast for each customer in order to achieve the plan. Must have total control & reporting of customers inventories proposing actions plan if necessary.

A. In Touch With The Retail Reality:

Be completely aware of what is transpiring at the customers stores. Complete Product / Brand Knowledge: Have an intimate knowledge of company brands, their values, positioning, target consumers and personality.

Have a clear and concise communication with the retail teams in the field as supervisor, merchandiser, Store managers giving solution at the day to day business problem.

A. Smart_Selling:

  • Must be able to arrange facts in a way that builds customer excitement and closes the sale. Must also be analytical and go beyond the numbers to find the real insight that will be the key to growing the brands with customers. Has to be able to develop or recomend a price strategy.


Minimum Skills Required

  • Able to perform in a highly complex environment

  • Retail Management experience

  • Results Oriented

  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite applications and contact management software.

  • Valid driver’s license.

Minimum Education/Experience Required

  • Professional Degree in Administrative Careers.

  • Must have 2 to 5 years experience in similar positions within consumer product firms involving active interaction and negotiating with retailer and distributors/ wholesalers buyers.
