Pfizer EHS, Environmental, Health & Safety EHS Coordinator Colombia in Suba, Colombia


The main purpose of this position is support and assist Pfizer Colombia-Commercial Offices on the Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) field, including Pfizer's satellite offices, creating, implementing and controlling environmental, health and safety management system to meet internal requirements as well as compliance to government regulations.

The EHS Coordinator must maintain knowledge and key information of current activities, including EHS Management System, Fleet Safety Program and Pfizer Resilience Model; and provides subject matter expertise to Pfizer office operations and colleagues in this area. He/she assists in the development and implementation of short and long range plans, and continuously improve EHS performance. Assist with environmental duties as needed, including potential divestitures and assessments.


  • Review Corporate EHS, Regional and Local EHS requirements and implements to those standards at the site level to assure full compliance with all applicable requirements.

  • Assist in the completion of EHS evaluations for new sites, new projects and equipment and equipment modifications, including change management for minor projects.

  • Investigate incidents and complaints of colleagues regarding safety, health, ergonomics, environmental, etc.

  • Assist in the development and conducting EHS training as needed (e.g., New Employee Orientation, PPE, Small Spill Clean-up, Hazardous Waste, SOPs, among others.)

  • Perform follow-up and assure closure of EHS recommendations from various Corporate, self and outside audits, site inspections and hazard reports.

  • Assist with the management of various EHS Programs, including, but not limited to, Contractor, Hazard Communication/SDS Management, Ergonomics, High Hazard Work, among others, as assigned by the EHS Regional Lead

  • Perform Risk Assessments, creates and, as needed, performs various safety and environmental inspections.

  • Support medical programs and recordkeeping of occupational cases.

  • Support the business in case of colleagues reinstate after medical labor disabilities.

  • Strong emphasis on EHS regulatory permit management. Review reporting data and prepare reports to satisfy regulatory and permit requirements.Manage day-to-day hazardous, biological and special waste activities.Maintains fire safety precautions and fist aid programs, including emergency response, training and simulations.

  • Manages ergonomic risk and all potential hazards related to office spaces.

  • Understand and support Fleet safety Program, according with GEHS Policy.

  • Maintain fire safety precautions including emergency response, training and simulations.

  • Support local FM / EHS team by ensuring appropriate induction, guidance in development and implementation of the EHS Management System, and the monitoring and control of its performance.

  • Support and be the liaison between the business and local authorities regrading compliance and in case of audits or inspections.

  • Support the EHS regional team in its area of expertise

Internal/External interfaces or interactions

  • Internal interfaces with HR, Facilities Manager, Security Head

  • Interaction with all colleagues, contingency workers and contractors

  • External interactions with other EHS Coordinators in LATAM region

  • External interface with occupational health and safety regulatory organizations, advisors and service providers

Leadership/Team Leadership Responsibilities

The EHS Coordinator- Colombia will act as EHS Management System Champion for LATAM Region



  • Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Health & Safety (EHS), Engineering, EHS Management, Occupational Medicine or related. Master's Degree preferred

  • 5-8 years of related work experience on pharmaceutical industries or similar.

  • 5-8 years of EHS Management System implementation experience

  • Spanish & English proficiency required

Full time job assignment.

Occasional travel.
